This week, students have the opportunity to wear their art on their sleeves.
Inkahoots is an event involving Ohio University School of Art students, Athens High School, visiting universities and Clinton Reno, a renowned screen-printer, that will teach screen-printing techniques in addition to selling posters and T-shirts.
This is the second annual Inkahoots event. It will take place over four days. As part of the event, participants can bring T-shirts to create their own designs or buy unique designs. There will also be print-making demonstrations.
Visiting artist Clinton Reno grew up in Xenia and graduated with a BFA in Illustration in 1995 from the Columbus College of Art and Design. Reno does hand-pulled, limited edition designs for posters, T-shirts and CDs.
Some of the bands he's designed for include Cake, Coldplay, The Decemberists and Gnarls Barkley.
For his work with bands, Reno takes the history and music of the band into account.
Reno will have an exhibit in the Cube 4 Gallery in Siegfred Hall Wednesday to Sunday. His work will be available for purchase Friday and Saturday at Howard Hall as part of the public events that will teach print-making.
Inkahoots is also promoting the School of Art Prom Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Seigfried Hall lobby. Those planning to attend should be aware that it is a themed prom and you must go as a piece of art, and admission is three to five dollars.
The free events on Friday and Saturday where unique artwork will be printed and sold will take place at Howard Hall, at the top of Jefferson Hill.
