On Tuesday and Friday, Ohio University’s College of Arts and Sciences will hold data summits to discuss the current state of the college for the first time in years.
The meeting on Tuesday will take place from 12-1:30 p.m. and the meeting on Friday will be from 3-4:30 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the Scripps Hall, room 111.
The meeting will be held in a town meeting format and is for the faculty and staff of the College of Arts and Sciences, but students are invited to attend.
Dean of the college, Robert Frank said in an email that the university is pushing down decision making to the individual colleges. The meeting will discuss college data related to academic and financial performance and opportunities and challenges for the future.
Frank thinks that it’s best that the colleges are left to make their own decisions.
“We know better than the university how to solve our problems,” he said.
It’s unclear whether other colleges will also hold data summit meetings.
