Scripps professor holds concert to benefit CLP

ATHENS ' A fundraiser concert is being held this weekend, benefiting non-profit news organizations. The concert will benefit the Common Language Project and [url=http://www.afrikanews.org/]www.afrikanews.org[/url], and will feature E.W. Scripps School of Journalism professor Bob Stewart and his band, along with Jack Wright and Albert Rouzie. The Common Language Project is a non-profit organization that focuses on positive

inclusive and humane reporting of stories ignored by the mainstream media according to its mission statement. The group spotlights issues such as human rights, gender equality, social and economic justice, education, labor and health. The CLP is also affiliated with [url=http://www.afrikanews.org/]www.afrikanews.org[/url], a news outlet specifically reporting under-reported issues in Africa, founded by Scripps alumni Ernest Waititu. The Common Language Project benefit will be held at 9 p.m. Saturday atDonkey Coffee and Espresso, 17 -+ W. Washington St.
