Bullseye goes off in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ season two, episode four

Episode four of “Daredevil: Born Again” (2025–Present) gives what fans of Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter/Bullseye (Wilson Bethel)  have been waiting for. Bullseye has been featured in three seasons of television, with his debut in season three of the original “Daredevil” (2015–2018) show.

In the first season of “Daredevil: Born Again,” he had taken a backseat until the last two episodes. However, in the fourth episode of season two, Bullseye is finally given a proper amount of screentime. It’s safe to say fans of the character will not be disappointed.

The episode opens with Dex doing his morning routine, going to a nearby diner and alerting Mayor Wilson Fisk’s (Vincent D’Onofrio) Anti-Vigilante Task Force of Frank Castle, or the Punisher’s, (Jon Bernthal) location at said diner.

Dex only does this to cause chaos and kill a handful of Fisk’s task force, and before leaving the scene, he draws his symbol on the entrance doors with a ketchup bottle. Like all of the other vigilantes in New York City, Bullseye is by no means subtle.

Fans of the show see some more interaction between Bullseye and Matt Murdock, or Daredevil, (Charlie Cox) in this episode as well. Daredevil, still recovering from the loss of Franklin “Foggy” Nelson (Elden Henson), is conflicted between brutally beating Bullseye to a pulp or allowing him to redeem himself.

Dex explains to Daredevil that he wants to kill Fisk and his wife Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer) to make up for having to kill Foggy on Vanessa’s behalf. Daredevil tries to convince him not to make a martyr out of Fisk, but Dex manages to escape.

Meanwhile, Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) with the assistance of Kirsten McDuffie (Nikki M. James) records the testimony of Christofi Savva (Yorgos Karamihos), the Northern Star’s first mate in the season pilot.

Angela del Toro, or White Tiger (Camila Rodriguez), leaks secret recordings from Fisk’s other prisoners to BB Urich (Genneya Walton). Mr. Charles (Matthew Lillard) confronts Fisk about the delays of weapons being moved from Red Hook, to which Fisk threatens Charles and asks for patience due to Daredevil’s interference.

Later in the episode, Fisk wins a public boxing match at Fogwell’s Gym while his fixer, Buck Cashman (Arty Froushan) kills Savva. Not listening to her husband, Vanessa attends the boxing match wearing a white dress.

Bullseye arrives and immediately wreaks havoc. He manages to kill most of the AVTF officers and comes close to killing Fisk before Daredevil swoops in to prevent him from doing so. Bullseye and Daredevil escape, and a shard of glass from an object thrown by Bullseye punctured Vanessa’s temple.

She collapses on the ground, and the blood from her wound drips onto her dress. This creates the same imagery of the painting “Rabbit in a Snowstorm” Vanessa introduced to Fisk all the way back in season one of the original series.

There’s a lot that happens in this episode. It serves as the turning point for this season that will only make things worse for Daredevil, Karen and especially Bullseye. If Vanessa does die by the next episode, then Fisk has no reason to ruthlessly hunt and kill any obstacle in his way.

It only makes sense that the one to completely derail Daredevil and Karen’s plan is Bullseye, who may not be their primary target but is someone who neither have any interest in joining forces with. At least, not yet.

Bethel’s performance was amazing in this episode. Although his take on the character might not be completely comic-accurate, he still understands how Bullseye should be portrayed. Four episodes remain of season two, and there’s likely to be more of Bullseye’s antics.
