Ohio Defeats Bowling Green 44-37

linebacker Lee Renfro said.

For the second time this season, Ohio left the field after a close win. In week two, they defeated North Texas 31-30 in double overtime. These are games Ohio struggled to win in past years, but are giving this year's team confidence.

Ohio moved to 1-0 in the MAC, and ruined Bowling Green's homecoming.

Theo Scott continues to roll for Ohio (3-2, 1-0 MAC) as he threw for 202 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. The redshirt senior also rushed for the first touchdown of his career.

But after the game, Scott made it clear he was already over this victory, no matter how well he or the team played.

I'm glad that we won

but honestly it doesn't matter now Scott said. The game's over. It's time to move on to Akron get to the MAC Championship in Detroit

get that ring. It's simple.

Bowling Green - Freddie Barnes leads the nation in receptions, but he couldn't hang on when Bowling Green needed it the most.

On a fourth-and-one from the Ohio 14-yard line, with the score 44-37, Tyler Sheehan threw the pass, Barnes knocked it in the air, it tipped off Steven Jackson back to Barnes who twisted, juggled and fell in the endzone while trying to reel it in.

He lay on the ground. So did the ball. Incomplete. Ohio won.

Just got a little grace from the Lord on that last play

It really didn't need to be as close as it was.

Ohio was winning 37-30 when Scott broke through the line on an option, and sprinted 68 yards for a touchdown. The game seemed out of reach as it was 44-30 with 5:05 left in the game.

But on the ensuing drive, the Falcons caught a huge break when a 20-yard reception had a 15-yard personal foul tacked on to the end of it. Bowling Green had the ball at Ohio's 22, and drove the ball the rest of the way before punching it in, making the score 44-37.

Hopefully

Solich said, we'll learn to have this kind of game be a little easier instead of making it so tight at the end.

LaVon Brazill had a huge game for Ohio with acareer-high 93 yards on four receptions, a touchdown catch and a punt return for a touchdown.

We're still hungry
