The recent brick piece set at Adams Hall that was designed by the Wexlers, a New York design team chosen for OU by a set (sect) of elitist campus people, is yet another sad example whereby we local artists are being ignored for art commissions on campus. Why hell, these outsiders didn't even BUILD their thing! They hired local bricklayers for that ' the only good thing about this ongoing scam.
Other than the OU art faculty whose annual salaries are guaranteed by the medieval concept of tenure, we local independent artists really need income like the $75,000 (!) brick piece.
So when are the elitists going to begin funding us local yokels to create multi-thousand dollar art for installation in open view on our campus? After all, most of us went through OU's BFA and MFA programs. We too know the system and are privy to contemporary art trends. HELLO?!
