It tells the world who a person is and where they fit in greater society. Being true to one's style can be intimidating, especially when social trends drive self-expression. I will be studying abroad in Spain this summer, and I have recently learned about cultural differences to be aware of before traveling. One that I knew of, but never took into consideration, was the slow-paced movement and historical tradition of the siesta, or a short nap after a midday meal. Siestas are commonly associated with Spain but have become an important part of daily life for people of many countries. In the U.S. where “time is money,” a new perspective on rest might bring peace in taking things slow.

The rumors surrounding Kate Middleton started after a trip to the hospital in January for what the royal family said was planned abdominal surgery. Fans of the Princess of Wales were concerned for her health and the citizens of England hoped for her quick and easy recovery. Since then, however, Middleton has only been seen a handful of times, causing distress among her fans. The anxiety from the lack of public appearances has led to a wide variety of conspiracy theories about the Princess of Wales, ranging from her husband, Prince William, cheating on her, to her potential death.

The United Academics of Ohio University, or UAOU, delivered a letter to OU President Lori Stewart Gonzalez on March 5 during a rally it hosted on College Green, requesting the university respect its wishes to unionize and agree to remain neutral.
