There seems to be a lot of fantasy in the world of pop music. Stars can be made overnight and can blow up for the smallest and most random things. When analyzing the careers of some of pop’s major stars, there are actually quite a few pop stars who have made careers out of long-term consistency rather than just popping up out of nowhere.

In a world dominated by visual media, it’s amazing to see artists take the aesthetics of their music to the next level. At a live show, especially considering the price of admission, enjoying a visual spectacle alongside music is expected, and it can take a show to the next level.

Much has been written about the issues with the recent popularity of sports gambling, such as financial hardships, as reported by the American Institute for Boys and Men, harassment faced by college athletes, as reported by CBS and the NCAA, an increase in domestic violence incidents and the company's reliance on and exploitation of people with addiction, as reported by The Atlantic.

New York City’s Madison Square Garden is one of the most iconic venues in the history of American performing arts. As the reputation of the venue is so high, artists often treat a sold-out show at MSG as a massive career milestone. While being able to play to that many fans at all is, of course, an indication of great success, selling out MSG is actually easier than many fans and even artists realize.

With the nostalgia cycle catching up to the 90s and 2000s, the return of Warped Tour in 2025 seemed, in hindsight, to be a foregone conclusion.

Rock, especially alternative rock, has a reputation for being rebellious, fiery and poignant in times of deep political divide. Whether this assessment of rock history is true is up for debate, but if rock’s rebellious soul still defines the genre, we should see it in 2025. So far, however, a lot of the biggest names in rock and metal have remained relatively silent, and while their music speaks to fighting the power, they lie dormant. Even worse, some bands are weaponizing rock’s “rebellious nature” to advocate for the hateful system they should be rising against.
