Athens defeated Wellston 62-53 Tuesday for its 15th win of the season and to claim the TVC-Ohio title.
Athens (12-4) looked a little rough to begin the game Tuesday night but, when it was all said and done against Nelsonville-York (2-14), the Bulldogs won 68-50.
Ohio couldn’t quite pick up where it left off a few weeks back, placing eighth out of 11 teams at the Grandover Collegiate held in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Ohio had its best performance of the season so far and finished in ninth place out of 16 teams during the two-day Phoenix Intercollegiate tournament at the Alamance Country Club in Burlington, North Carolina.
Ohio turned in a tough weekend and finished 15th place — last place — in the two-day Wolfpack Intercollegiate tournament at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, North Carolina.
