HAVAR is a non-profit based in Athens, OH that aides developmentally disabled people with daily needs and life skill development. Consumers with HAVAR can receive anywhere from 1 hour to 24 hours of service a day. This piece was filmed at the Building Bridges Adult Center where consumers gather during the day to cook, do crafts, sing, dance and work on skill development.
Kappa Alpha Psi held their second annual Akt Like A Nupe contest April 2, 2011, in the Baker University Center Ballroom. The contest features different groups of female Ohio University students imitate the dancing of the "Nupes." Nupes are members of Kappa Alpha Psi. All proceeds from the event go to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
