Ohio University has done a lot in recent years to keep campus up-to-date. That can be seen clearly in its latest renovations on projects like McCracken Hall, the CoLab in Alden Library and Ellis Hall, which is slated to be finished in time for the upcoming Spring Semester.

The Picardy Thirds Showcase at 7:30 p.m. in Baker Theater. Come see The Picardy Thirds host its annual showcase, singing everything the group has worked on all semester. The group performs some of the best a capella in Athens.

After finally being able to sink my teeth into more than 60 hours of story, as well as over 10 hours of side content, it is honestly shocking how ambitious this game is.

DJ Barticus Y2K Millennium Dance Party at 9 p.m. at The Union Bar and Grill, 18 W. Union St. DJ Barticus is at it again, folks. If you’re a millennial and you’re looking for something to hype you up before the block party this weekend, this event is for you. Rock out with your socks out to some classic 2000s jams. Costumes are encouraged.

Psylodelic Gallery: Jefferson Airplane Loves You opens at noon at the Fur Peace Ranch, 39495 Saint Clair Road. Psylodelic Gallery finished its latest exhibit composed of rarely seen group of photos from guitarist Jorma Kaukonen’s private collection of memories with Jefferson Airplane, as well as Athens artist Andy Tucker’s “A Shared Moment,” which includes oil paintings of poets, writers, activists and musicians from the 1960s. This is the perfect gallery for any 60s, free-love, rock n’ roll enthusiast, and admission is free.
Tommy Boy at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at The Athena Cinema, 20 S. Court St. The Athena is celebrating Dads Weekend with a screening of Tommy Boy. The 1995 comedy is considered a classic featuring Chris Farley and David Spade. So, anyone who wants to share good laughs and some popcorn with their paps’ should head to the Athena to watch. Tickets are $7.
80s Night with DJ Barticus at 10 p.m. at Casa Nueva, 6 W. State St. Those in the mood for some good ol’ fashion '80s nostalgia will get to enjoy DJ Barticus’ tunes. Dance and drink to all of the wonderful music of the '80s. Admission is $5 for those 21 and over and $7 for those under 21.

The 9th Annual Beer & Cheese Incident at 5 p.m. at Jackie O’s BrewPub, 24 W. Union St. Enjoy special brews of beer and local cheese while playing “human sexuality bingo,” all to benefit Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio. Admission is free, and food and drinks will be available for purchase.
