Road construction on West Union Street has been going on since this past summer and is set to be finished by December 2024. The purpose of this project is to improve safety conditions, intersections and accessibility. Although these improvements are necessary, they have had a significant impact on motorists and businesses on West Union Street.

Since Palmer Place Fest was canceled this year, Athens Fest took its place. The fest was held on Hocking Street, and drew a huge crowd thanks to the well-known rappers who performed. Another successful fest weekend in Athens, Ohio!

On Sept. 30, The Ohio University African Students' Union hosted "African Night" in the Baker Ballroom. The event included traditional African food items, multiple speakers and even a dance floor.
