The Society of Athens Preservation, also known as "SOAP," works to ensure all historic buildings in Athens keep standing. Members of the club often act as investigative journalists, looking into why buildings are demolished.

Music is one of the few things that can bring people together. Across the world, music can be found everywhere. Performing in front of an audience is a form of community building unlike any other, bringing people of all backgrounds together for a common shared interest.
The student band Split recognizes and embraces this idea of community building through live music.

LGBTQIA+ flags were spotted across Ohio University’s College Green Wednesday when students came to rally against a small group of evangelical preachers expressing homophobic and transphobic beliefs.
Students congregated in front of the protesters holding pride flags and signs for the university’s LGBT center and counter-protesting in creative ways like setting up a DJ booth.

Internet-famous political satirist and presidential candidate Vermin Supreme visited the Athens courthouse Friday to promise students free ponies and mandatory toothbrushing.
Supreme is a perennial presidential candidate and has run as an independent Republican, Democrat and most recently as a Libertarian in 2020. His speeches consist mostly of nonsense and so do his outfits.
Friday, Supreme donned his famous boot on the head, a blue T-shirt, jeans, a sparkly American vest that had seen considerable wear, about six or seven ties and a green, white and purple tutu.

Past the ivy-covered walls of The Ridges lies a secret spot of sunshine. "Putt People First" is a miniature golf course. The profits from the course go toward Havar Incorporated, a company whose mission is to connect people, with or without, disabilities in supportive and inclusive communities.
