El Tenampa is a Mexican restaurant located at 21 S. Court St. that has become a popular spot for Ohio University staff and students. While the restaurant has grown in the past few years, its parent business has been a part of the Athens community for many years.

On the morning of January 21st, 2023, about 100 people gathered to protest Artifacts Gallery for anti-trans signage and business practices.
The protest started around 10:30am with a crowd of roughly 30 people, before growing to around 100. Around 11am, the crowd migrated to the front of the Athens courthouse.
