On Saturday, the first presidential tailgate of the 2024 football season took place, featuring the Marching 110. President Gonzalez will hold these tailgates each week before home games, featuring a new group each time. Reporters Sullivan Beach and Dan Gray captured all the sights.

Ohio University's Students for Justice in Palestine organized a protest on Wednesday, urging the university to divest from and disclose investments in Israel. They also wanted to show their solidarity with the people of Gaza and call for an immediate cease fire.

Road construction on West Union Street has been going on since this past summer and is set to be finished by December 2024. The purpose of this project is to improve safety conditions, intersections and accessibility. Although these improvements are necessary, they have had a significant impact on motorists and businesses on West Union Street.

Since Palmer Place Fest was canceled this year, Athens Fest took its place. The fest was held on Hocking Street, and drew a huge crowd thanks to the well-known rappers who performed. Another successful fest weekend in Athens, Ohio!
