Thursday, hundreds of students protested against OU’s lack of communication about Senate Bill 1 and President Donald Trump’s executive order to ban diversity, equity and inclusion programs at public institutions. According to the “Dear Colleagues Letter,” written by Trump and the Department of Education, they said universities need to stop treating people differently based on one’s race. Students responded and said certain groups of people already start at a disadvantage, so they need additional resources to mitigate the gap.
