OU Vibrations is a student dance group open for all regardless of dance experience, and they perform at many different events throughout the school year. Dancers in Vibrations say they love it becuase it's an opportunity to have fun and dance without the competitiveness. As their final spring show nears, OU Vibrations hits the studio to practice for a show-stopping spring show.

Cool Digs on West Union St. has officially closed due to construction on the Lostro building. The construction has resulted in the sidewalk on that side of the street to be closed since August, forcing people to the other side of the street. Due to this, the traffic to three businesses was almost nonexistent, forcing them to shut down. Owner of Cool Digs, another small business owner and an Athens Resident express their frustrations about the closing of small businesses due to construction.

A team of engineering students are working together to build a Baja car, which is a vehicle made for off-road terrain. This experience is a chance for engineering students to take what they've learned in the classroom and also compete in the Society of Automotive Engineers Baja Competition. Not only is this an opportunity for students to participate in experiential learning, but it also is a direct pathway into a career for some students.

Over the weekend, students gathered for a double feature fest weekend, Congo and High Fest. Students say they love this fest weekend because they get to have two days of partying back to back. Friday, hundreds of people packed Bagel Street Deli for its annual Picklefest, a pickle eating competition. Some say they signed up for fun to see what it's like, but others may not have performed to their best ability. The winner of Picklefest gets to create their own bagel on the menu, as well as pick a charity to donate their earnings too.

The Music Industry Summit is an annual event at Ohio University, connecting students to the professional world of the music industry. Producers, singers, DJs and many other industry professionals share their experiences, network with students, give advice and even perform. Students say they hope the people they meet at the summit can help them even get a job later on.

Abel Jarrahi, a Scripps College of Communication graduate student has created a company called VR Medical Solutions for his project, "Chemotherapy Unveiled". It simulates a chemotherapy facility to ease the initial anxiety and confusion of chemotherapy treatments, helping patients feel more prepared. Jarrahi says his research confirms the effectiveness of virtual reality in medical education and addressing real-world challenges.

The College Panhellenic Council puts on Sisterhood of the Traveling Dresses every year to help provide formal wear to local high schoolers for their prom. All of our 10 sororities on campus and anyone else who is able donates dresses for this cause. The event was a success and they have already stated collecting donations for next year.

OU Career Services held their Spring Career & Internship fair Wednesday at Ping Recreation Center to give students an opportunity to meet with over 80 employers from many different industries. A current employer says even if you're not looking for a job or internship just yet, it's still very beneficial to practice interacting with employers and seeing what's out there.

This week OU Student Senate is holding Pride Week to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community. The events range from art competitions and wellness discussions to a pride prom and a panel of drag queens. They also have a display of pride flags on North Green which students say is really powerful to see. The events run until March 22nd.

The first and third Sunday of every month, Friendly Paws Pet Supplies & Grooming hosts the Athens County Humane Society cats for adoption event. This is a great way for people to get to know the cat before adoption, and also have volunteers foster for the cats before adoption.
