Ohio University's All-Campus Radio Network held their annual "Punk Prom" at The Union, where various local bands played at the event. Members of ACRN and students at OU came together to listen, dance and celebrate Valentine's weekend.

Over the past year, multiple small businesses in Athens have closed, leaving current business owners worried and community members disappointed. At a community forum about these closures, Mayor Patterson said to business owners, it's a matter of advertising your business to get customers in your door. He said it may be challenging, but that's how local economies work. Reporter, Kendall Timms heard from current business owners about their thoughts on the closures.

In honor of Valentine's Day, The Pigskin held a blind date night on Thursday, February 13. Singles could sign up to participate, while a host asked them questions to see if they are compatible. The Dairy Barn Arts Center holds many different art classes, one of them being the Create to Donate class. This free class is open for all ages and any skill level. The class makes personalized clay bowls to donate to different charities. The Dairy Barn says this is a wonderful opportunity to create, learn and give back.

On the first Friday of every month, the Multicultural Center hosts a themed social event for students to meet new people on campus, have a space to unwind and celebrate diversity at OU. The MCC says these events are a great way to find your community on campus.

Morgan's Message was created in 2020 by Morgan Rodgers' parents after she died by suicide in 2019. She was a Duke University lacrosse player, so her parents set the mission of de-stigmatizing mental health among athletes, and creating a community where they feel supported. Students here at OU share how they implement Morgan's Message into athletics on campus.

The AAC, the free student tutoring center on campus is expanding its location from Alden Library to Bromley Hall and Morton Hall. Morton Hall will be dedicated to STEM majors and Bromley hall will offer more spaces for the writing center. They hope to provide better locations for studying and hope students will feel more comfortable in these new spots.

Rev. Dr. Francine Childs was the first Black woman to receive tenure at Ohio University, and she was a pioneering force for the African American Studies department. She made it her mission to give back to the community, she cared for her students and she was a force for justice. Childs' nephew explained the immeasurable impact she had during her life.

The Princeton Review ranked Ohio University as Ohio's top Green School in 2025, due to the university's sustainability and environmental efforts. OU was the only school in Ohio to be ranked in the top 50 list of green universities. Director of Sustainability, Sam Crowl, says this behavior is infused into everything that's done in Athens and at OU.

Brick City Records, the student run record label at OU features solo artist, Riley James this year. Riley says they've been involved in music their whole life, making it their passion. Not only do they write their own songs, but they play multiple instruments. They hope to have a successful career after college.

Bobcat Hangout, located on the third floor of Baker University Center, offers a space for students to relax and play games at a central point of campus. The space first opened up the beginning of this semester, as it was a highly requested addition to the student experience. This space has the same operating hours as Baker, so it is free for everyone to use during that time.
