November 5th will go down as a historic election day. Due to this, Post reporters spoke to Athens voters and Ohio University students outside the polls all day about how their experience has been while voting, what issues are most important to them and what they hope the outcome of the election will be.

Every year for Dad's Weekend, Alden Library creates an 18-hole golf course throughout the library for students and their dad's to play. The event is a hit and a great way to spend your Dad's Weekend. Reporter, Raphaëlle Anglade, captured moments from the course.

Although many people have participated in early voting, there will still be millions of citizens voting on election day. People have expressed concern of unsafe environments at the polls, and being scared to vote by absentee ballot due to ballot drop boxes being burned around the country. Voting professionals tell us there will be safety precautions at all the polls and they highly encourage you to still cast your vote.

Little Wing Curiosity Shoppe and Thrift Store is a local business who has brought the Athens community together to gather donations for different humanitarian relief shipments to Ukraine. Due to the aftermath of hurricane Helene, they are now packing things up for a shipment to western North Carolina with various supplies and resources.

A local business in Athens, Tavolino, receives donations following a break in. The restaurant opened seven months ago, beginning with their #SouponHold board where you can donate and buy a post it, or grab a post it and receive a free soup at the register. As the business grows, they have begun offering more free meals for the community.

This year is the 50th anniversary of the HallOUweekend block party in Athens. Halloween always brings in huge crowds and craziness, but Athens Police Chief, Nick Magruder, says they will have extra security to keep everyone safe. His biggest tip is to always use the "buddy system" and have a plan.
