To anyone that has ever tripped and scraped an arm or a knee, it is beyond clear that our bodies are fragile and can easily fall victim to a vast number of dangers. For anyone that has ever known someone that has undergone aggressive cancer treatment, allowing dangers of an entirely different kind to enter and tear apart one’s body is often the only option.

In our society, economic growth is typically portrayed as a good thing. However, this is environmentally problematic, which I’ll discuss in a later column. But there are a number of  reasons why we might assume economic growth is beneficial.

College Matt-ers: Despite ranking, OU students don't get 'best bang' for buck

As I was reading my social media news feed this week, I noticed a number of my friends — and Ohio University itself — beaming over the fact that OU had been ranked second among universities where students “get the best bang for their buck.” Now, there are a lot of things I love about OU, but affordability is not one of them, so naturally I was skeptical of such a claim.
