Columnist's remarks were exaggerated, tactless

I am writing about Ashley Herzog's column on the sexist attacks of Republicans. Her remarks were very exaggerated and based on a very small portion of what she refers to as liberals. Would it be a fair assumption to cite neo-Nazi websites as a conservative source? Should I cite Rush Limbaugh's bigoted remarks on Obama? As for the topic of sexism, how is it fair that when Jamie Lynn Spears got pregnant, right wing pundits blame the parents for it, but when Bristol Palin gets pregnant at 17 out of wedlock, it is suddenly off limits? I think that this tactless column clearly skews what mainstream liberalism teaches. It would be much appreciated if, in the future, a fair view of either side were presented.

Candidate's explanations asinine, sense of humor sick

I'm still scratching my head after reading your story about Democratic state senate candidate Rick Shriver's Web site podcast. Why someone running for public office would record himself telling a story about stealing another man's e-mail and signing him up for every bizarre porno website I could find is beyond me.-

Your Turn: McCain overlooks veterans' present and future needs

We are so worried about our veterans, soldiers, sailors and their loved ones, and the care they need now and will need in the future. It has become clear that they are receiving inadequate help in health care, housing, safety equipment, preparation and pay! It is extremely disheartening that a famous veteran like Mr. McCain could neglect those who have also sacrificed so much for all of us. For your convenience, I have provided the following information as tabulated in the U.S. Senate records. I would appreciate your attention on this urgent issue. You see, my brother is a 100 percent disabled veteran.

Have you ever posted a picture of yourself that you later realized was embarrassing? Have you ever sent an angry e-mail to someone that you regretted once you hit the send button? If so, don't feel too bad; Democratic state senate candidate Rick Shriver can sympathize with you!
