Editorial: The rise and fall of OU

With all the attention being paid to the new Baker Center, other buildings are rising and falling around campus. Here is a breakdown of some of the major changes ' for better or worse.

OU mines theses and dissertations for plagiarism

Scouring the Ohio University library's archive for plagiarism, former graduate student Tom Matrka used the library's Web site to search for the keyword multiphase flow in theses and dissertations. He requested the search results from the annex and, after comparing the documents side by side, Matrka found 15 allegedly plagiarized theses.

EDITORIAL: Lost opportunity

Once again, like they do every year, Athens City Council is complaining about losing money paying for the Halloween party on Court Street. While complaining is certainly easier than coming up with proactive ways to reduce costs, it is getting old. Halloween is expensive for the city of Athens; we understand that. Now it's time to move on and do something to reduce or eliminate that cost, and try to profit off the massive influx of people.
