‘Sunrise on the Reaping’ trailer breaks records

Lionsgate’s first trailer for “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” racked up 109 million views in 24 hours. The prequel, out Nov. 20, 2026, dives into Haymitch Abernathy’s own Games, doubling the usual number of tributes and showcasing a star-studded cast led by Joseph Zada, McKenna Grace, Glenn Close, Ralph Fiennes and Elle Fanning.

Two injection wells approved in Washington County have caused concern among local Marietta officials, residents and environmental groups for potential danger to nearby drinking water sources. ODNR approved the wells with outdated regulations, prompting a lawsuit by Buckeye Environmental Network.

The Taproot Collective is a new local business in Athens for any plant lover or art enthusiast. There are many propagated plants to choose from, as well as locally made candles and art. The shop is run by Julie Penland Dykstra, a local who works at Purple Chopstix and is dedicated to sustainability and recycling.
