There was a total of 148 arrests at Athens' annual Halloween bash, which officials described as "quiet" compared to previous years.

A total of 50 arrests were made by the Athens and Ohio University police departments, in addition to 98 arrests by the Ohio Investigative Unit.

There were also 46 confirmed medical emergencies on Court Street as of 2:50 a.m., said Athens EMS chief Rick Callebs.

Athens Police Department received two reports of assault, one of theft and one of domestic violence between 4 and 6 a.m. this morning, according to police reports.

Officials reported throughout the night that the event remained quiet.
