Amid all of the commotion surrounding Homecoming Weekend, some campus organizations initiated protests to promote various social causes.
On Friday, members of F--kRapeCulture marched from Jeff Hill, to Mill Street, to Court Street to raise awareness about rape and sexual assault on OU’s campus. The march culminated with a rally on College Green.
Another peaceful protest occurred during Saturday’s Homecoming football game, where a group of about 45 demonstrators, dubbed as an “ethnic coalition,” advocated for diversity and inclusion. The coalition wore black and silently raised their fists in the air when the OU football team took to the field.
Later in the game, member of another group on the other side of the stadium began chanting “Whose lives matter? Black lives matter.” Other surrounding spectators began chanting “all lives matter” in retaliation. The group also displayed a banner reading “Make racists afraid again.”

Scores and Game Times
It was a good weekend for OU sports. Hockey won 8-0 and 5-3 over Colorado, soccer won 4-1 over Akron and football won 30-24 over Bowling Green.
