The Athens Police Department has fielded its second report of a bank robbery within a week, and police believe the same suspect committed both robberies.
At about 4:10 p.m. Thursday, APD was called to Chase Bank, 920 E. State St., to investigate a robbery. The suspect, a woman, is believed to have been involved with a robbery earlier this week at Peoples Bank, 1 N. Court St., on Dec. 27.
In both incidents, the suspect did not appear to be armed, and no one was injured. An undisclosed amount of money was taken in the Thursday robbery.
