Good Morning,
While we’re sure you’ll spend all day today studying for exams and generally being productive, you should know today holds special significance to some people.
Today is April 20, also called 4/20, a day that many dedicate to marijuana. Originally coined by a few California high schoolers in the 1970s, the number has crept into pop culture and national language since then.
And Athens isn’t immune to the celebration. There will be a screening of the infamous Reefer Madness at the Athena, and Import House will have a 20 percent sale on almost all its inventory.
Of course, you don’t have to smoke to feel marijuana’s effects in Ohio — the state legalized medical marijuana last year.
