OUPD fields first rape report of summer semester

The Ohio University Police Department reported an incident of rape that allegedly occurred over the weekend.

According to the department’s weekend call log, which was released  Tuesday, an individual reported unwanted sexual conduct with a known acquaintance. The incident reportedly occurred on Mulberry Street, a short stretch of roadway in front of Brown Hall on South Green, intersecting with Stewart Street.

No additional information was given in the call log.

The offense is the first to have been reported to OUPD during the university’s summer semester, which began in May. The department received eight reports of rape during the Spring Semester, in addition to the seven sex-related crimes reported during the Fall Semester.
