When Athens City Council meets on Monday, they will decide the final fate of the proposed skate park.
An emergency ordinance will be introduced to decide if the skate park, set to be built at the East State Street Park, will receive the additional funding it needs.
Council originally approved $292,000 for the project, said City Recreation Director Kevin Schwartzhoff. Bids for the project were due on June 11. Only Maiden and Jenkins Construction Company of Nelsonville bid on the project for $314,000.
