Local levies announced

York township - excluding the city of Nelsonville - is looking to renew a five-year, 1-mill fire protection levy. The auditor's office estimates $12,299.02 per year would be generated if passed. The money will be used for providing and maintaining equipment for fire protection.

-A Warren Local School District bond issue in Washington County is asking for 9.97 property tax mills that would construct new elementary schools and renovate and improve existing school facilities by furnishing equipment and landscaping. The amount of money that would be generated over a maximum of 28 years is $40,700,000.

-The Village of Glouster is asking for a renewal levy to provide fire protection for the village and surrounding areas. The tax levy is worth $2.9 million for the next five years. The money would be used to keep the equipment running for the volunteer fire department.

-The Village of Glouster is asking for a five-year, 1-mill replacement levy for resurfacing, repairing and maintaining the roads, streets and alleys.

-The Village of Trimble is asking for a $4.6 million renewal levy for current operating expenses. The levy is for the next three years and goes into the general fund, which is used to help pay city bills.

-Rome township is asking for a replacement levy for increased funding to the volunteer fire department. The levy is for .9 mill over five years, and if passed, the department would receive $11,746 each year.

-Waterloo township is asking for a five-year, .9 mill renewal levy for cemetery maintenance. The levy would maintain Waterloo's cemeteries' equipment and operational needs and would generate $14,336 each year.

-The Village of Coolville is asking for a 5 mill, five-year replacement levy for street maintenance.
