Editor,
The Student Alumni Board would like to clarify a miscommunication of information printed in The Post on Tuesday. The article headline, Construction for student center to start this April: SAB to dedicate room to former student implies that Ohio University's Student Alumni Board is dedicating a room in the new student center in memory of Amanda Cunningham. Senior Class Council is the organization dedicating a room in the new student center in memory of Amanda. While the board is very interested in contributing dollars to this cause, we want to make it clear that as a board, we are simply expanding on the efforts already made by the Senior Class Council to raise the funds and name a room in her honor.
Our main interest for this program is to support the Senior Class Council and work with them in any way we can to play a part in making this dedication to Amanda possible. The Senior Class Council is doing excellent work and we want to make sure that credit is given to them for their initiatives. As a board, we are committed to continue our work with Senior Class Council and contribute to this worthy cause.
Also, because of extenuating circumstances, the Student Alumni Board's Bingo Night that was to take place on Feb. 4 in the Baker Center Ballroom has unfortunately been canceled. We are, however, currently planning another charity event to be held in the near future to raise funds for the Cunningham dedication and look forward to the student population's participation and support.
