The Ohio club gymnastics team won the Ohio University Rockin' Invitational last Saturday. The event was held in Gallipolis and marked a historic moment for the club team.
It was the first home meet that we've ever had at OU
said Kelli Marimpietri, the meet coordinator. We got a lot of help from all the gymnasts and their parents. A lot of people pulled through to make it a success.
Ohio won the competition with a team score of 142.3. James Madison placed second with 133 points. Ohio State was third with 126.55, and Pennsylvania finished fourth with 119.32.
We went all out and pulled together to win the meet Marimpietri said.
This is the second consecutive first-place finish for Ohio. Ohio took first at the Hokie Classic, at Virginia Tech in November.
