Woman taken off Paris-to-Cincinnati flight; plane lands

HEBRON, Ky. - A woman was taken off a flight from Paris to Cincinnati on Tuesday because of suspicious wires in her coat. Security officials later determined she was not a threat.

As a precaution, Delta Flight 43 landed away from the terminal at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. U.S. officials said they planned to re-screen passengers and baggage.

A passenger said Tuesday evening that seven or eight men were removed from the plane for questioning after it landed, but they later rejoined the other passengers in customs.

I never felt threatened

said Kathy Crutcher, 26, of the Cincinnati suburb of Anderson Township.

She said the passengers were informed of the special circumstances during the flight, but there was never any sense of danger.

The pilot said there had been some kind of security breach and to remain calm Crutcher said.

The crew did an excellent job of maintaining normal precautions and they kept the movie running on TV and people kept reading and watching TV

she said.

The nation is under orange alert, the second-highest of five color-coded terrorism threat levels.
