Plans for a new university center will be on display for students tonight in Baker Center.
Representatives from Student Senate and the Facilities Planning office will present full-color drawings and a floor plan for the $60 million project, said Richard Shultz, capital construction director. The five-story building will be located at the south end of Court Street.
Funding for the university was approved by the Board of Trustees in February and will come from state capital improvement funds and bonds. Students will pay a fee of $60 per quarter when the center opens.
Construction is set to begin in April and be completed in the fall of 2007.
The open house is today from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the 1804 lounge in Baker Center.
