Graduate Student Senate will have elections today with a new online voting system.
By visiting http://cscwww.cats.ohiou.edu/~gss/, graduate students can enter their Oak ID and password to access the ballot. They then will see the names of executive candidates and the representative for their respective colleges. Polls will be open until 8 a.m. Thursday.
Presidential candidates Brooke Dagnan, Amanda Jo Hobson and Jeremy Valeda all plan to promote health care for graduate students and benefits for graduate associates, teaching assistants and research assistants. Valeda is the only member of a party, the Shock and Awe party.
All three candidates are pursuing master's degrees: Dagnan in film, Hobson in teacher education and Valeda in communication systems management.
Thirteen other candidates are running for positions representing most colleges with graduate programs.
Election results will be available on the Graduate Student Senate Web site immediately after the elections.
