He does not wear the face paint anymore, but he said he still gets sick from a curse Papa Shango put on him more than a decade ago. His legal name is The Warrior and he still has the warrior energy.
Sponsored by the 2nd Amendment Club, former World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion of the World, The Warrior -formerly known as the Ultimate Warrior -spoke last night in the Baker University Center Ballroom to a crowd of about 100 students.
The Warrior was greeted with clapping and chants as he took the stage to give a speech on the importance of the 2nd Amendment, United States history and conservativism.
Jesse Roush, president of the 2nd Amendment Club, networked through the Young Americans Foundation to bring The Warrior to Ohio University.
He's a really charismatic speaker and we needed somebody to get people to our events
Roush said. Whether they listened or not they were here to get a non-liberal perspective.
Before The Warrior spoke, an assortment of video clips from his days as a wrestler were shown, including The Warrior body slamming Andre the Giant, defeating Hulk Hogan and tearing apart the Iraqi flag. The footage of The Warrior ripping the flag was followed by chants of U.S.A. from the audience.
You guys are never gonna grow up The Warrior said.
The Warrior's speech got intense when one of the members of the 2nd Amendment club could not recite the Amendment.
You're in the 2nd Amendment Club and you don't know the fucking 2nd Amendment The Warrior said.
The Warrior proceeded to give an elementary version of the history of the United States. His history lesson included pro-gun quotes from the Federalist Papers. He closed his quoting tangent with an Adolf Hitler quote about keeping guns out of the hands of the people.
Adolf knew... Adolf knew
The Warrior said.
The Warrior said he once defended his house from some intruders by grabbing his shotgun and scaring them into the woods. When the police arrived some of the officers told him he did the right thing while others objected.
The next time an intruder is wide-eyed at the end of my barrel
I won't see Bambi
The Warrior said. I'm not going to let a jury screw it up
he can say hello to God.
The forum was opened up for questions for The Warrior after his speech. Corey Tucker, a 1st year OU student, tried to debate The Warrior from a liberal point-of-view, and said he felt unable to discuss the issue.
It's funny he chose not to argue the facts
but debunk the situation by yelling over me
Tucker said.
