An Ohio University administrator who was charged with cocaine possession will leave the university by Halloween.
Richard Harrison, 43, is OU's assistant dean for student affairs development. Last September, Harrison was arrested Uptown for public intoxication; at the police station in Nelsonville, less than a gram of cocaine was found in his shoe.
In April, the Athens County Common Pleas Court allowed Harrison to undergo a drug treatment program in lieu of a conviction.
OU media specialist Jack Jeffery said Harrison's resignation is a mutual decision between Harrison and the university and is related to the drug situation. Harrison will remain on the payroll until Oct. 31. He earned $65,251 last year.
