After winning two of three last weekend, the Ohio volleyball team (6-1) took the Furman Invitational by storm, going 3-0 and winning the title. The team took wins against Jacksonville, Mercer and Furman.

Setter Briana Adamovsky, who tallied 119 assists, 15 kills and 20 digs during the tourney was named MVP and earned all-tournament honors. Ashley Elliott and Melissa Griffin were also named to the team.
Ohio opened tourney play with a win against Jacksonville (0-3) in three games, 30-11, 30-19, 30-13.
During the win, the Bobcats tallied 51 kills while the Dolphins only recorded 21.
Leading the team's attack were outside hitter Julia Winkfield and middle blocker Griffin, with 11 kills apiece. Outside hitters Stephanie Blackburn and Holly Schetzsle contributed 10 and nine kills, respectively.
Setter Adamovsky recorded 39 assists and libero Michaele Blackburn led the team with 17 digs.
The Bobcats next recorded a straight-game win against Mercer (4-4), 30-18, 30-18, 30-19.
Ohio outhit the Bears by 20 kills and also recorded a season-high 12.5 blocks.
Our blocking took a big step up from last weekend Adamovsky said.
Schetzsle recorded a season-high 14 kills and Griffin added eight to the attack to help gain the win.
Adamovsky recorded 39 assists and a season-high 10 digs. Elliott had a career-high eight block assists.
Ohio ended the weekend with a win against the Furman Lady Paladins (3-4), 30-15, 30-16, 30-21 to clinch the Furman title.
Leading the team was Winkfield with 16 kills and Stephanie Blackburn with a season-high 12. Michaele Blackburn added 10 digs and Adamovsky had 41 assists in the victory.
During the three-match tourney, Ohio won by an average score of 30-17 in the nine games played.
Defensively we made it hard for the other teams Elliott said.
Ohio took each match in three games and has yet to play more than three games in any match this season. The team never allowed more than 19 points in a game during the weekend, except for game three of the Furman match.
We had to have played clean volleyball to keep all three teams under 20
Carlston said. We played solid team volleyball.
Ohio will take on Colorado State, Southern Mississippi and Pepperdine in its final regular season tournament this weekend.
