p class=maintext>The 2004-05 season is approaching for the Ohio women's basketball team, as they will play in an exhibition game this weekend. The Bobcats, 13-15 overall and 7-9 in Mid-American Conference play last season, will compete against Premier Sports this weekend.
It feels good to be able to get the season started
point guard Angel Hornsburger said. It just makes things a lot more exciting for everyone.
The Bobcats have been practicing since the middle of October, have also been involved in various preseason activities and have been working on all aspects of the game.
I hate to be general but we have been working on everything coach Lynn Bria said. We have five new players
and we have been working on new plays for the season.
To prepare for the exhibition game, the team has been working on a new style of play. Ohio has also been scrimmaging and working on situations that might come up during the game.
The team has been working very hard in practice and putting in new plays
Hornsburger said. We have really been working hard on the defensive end.
Hornsburger, who injured her knee in the spring and had surgery, will sit out the game this weekend.
To beat Premier Sports, the team wants to take control of the game and get every Bobcat player involved.
We are looking to have the other team play our style of play
forward Erin Isbell said. We want everyone contributing to the game and doing well.
Bria is also looking for the defense to do well.
I would just really like to see us execute
defensively
our game plan
she said.
Ohio will take on Premier Sports, who has 10 women on the roster, at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Convocation Center.
