Kari Summers was the last person expecting to be named Mid-American Conference Cross Country Runner of the Week. As a matter of fact, she didn't even know that there is such a thing.
It's pretty cool
the sophomore said. When my friend told me about (it) I didn't even know that award existed.- junior Shamus Eaton said. We train in the hills every day
and it makes us stronger runners. It definitely plays to our advantage.
The Ohio women will be looking to win this meet for the second year in a row. If they can win it again this year, it will be their 10th All-Ohio Championship.
The men are going into the All-Ohio Championships looking to get their season going, as they haven't put in a great team effort yet. They will be led by Craig Leon, who will look to place for the fourth time in as many meets this year. He has already won two meets, and he came in third last week at the Notre Dame Invitational.
It's going to be a big one for us
mainly because it's always a big meet to see all the teams from Ohio that we measure ourselves against
Eaton said.
Ohio will get another crack at some of the MAC teams they will be running against at the MAC Championships Oct. 27.
This is a key meet for us
coach Clay Calkins said. There is going to be a lot of competition on the men and women's side
and with Akron finishing just above us last week (on both the men's and women's sides)
that's someone trying to beat us again.
