No. 16 Ohio advanced to the Mid-American Conference Tournament championship game with a 3-0 victory over Central Michigan today.
The victory gives the Bobcats (16-4) an opportunity to win a second consecutive MAC Tournament championship and a berth in the NCAA Division I Championships. Tomorrow at noon, Ohio will play Miami in Oxford.
Some familiar faces picked up the scoring tab for the Bobcats. Marcy Dull scored an unassisted goal in the fifth minute to put Ohio ahead early. Torrie Albini and Estienne Coetzee found the back of the cage in the second half to pad the Bobcat lead.
The Ohio offense was dominant again, accumulating 22 shots to just six for the Chippewas.
Goalkeeper Jessie Martin, the MAC Defensive Player of the Year, recorded another shutout with a three-save effort.
