Undefeated after four meets, Ohio is prepared for its two road dual meets this weekend at Bowling Green today and Toledo tomorrow.
The team will face tough competition against the Rockets (5-1), the preseason pick to win the Mid-American Conference. The Bobcats' meets this year haven't exactly been cakewalks, coach Greg Werner said.
We've had some great competition up to this point. Every team has great performers
and every team will challenge you Werner said.
These weekend meets pose a threat to the Bobcats' unblemished season.
They could potentially be the tougher meets of the year. Toledo's probably the hottest program in the conference right now Werner said. He also added that Bowling Green (0-2) is a smaller but potent team.
Ohio is relying heavily on its two senior captains, Emily Wylam and Ilse Petersen.
The captains are integral to the success of the team
Werner said.
Wylam said she believes that everyone needs to keep supporting each other, and that the team can't be concerned with individual performances.
We just need to beat them; times aren't big
Wylam said.
The Bobcat freshmen have been pivotal to the season's flawless record. So far this season, four freshmen have finished first. Keeping that in mind, the team is optimistic going into the weekend.
The team is fully aware of this weekend's challenge
and everyone is motivated
Petersen said.
