Coach Tim O'Shea knew it was only a matter of time before a woeful shooting performance would be too difficult to overcome.
After escaping numerous games in conference play earlier this season despite shooting struggles, the Bobcats could not overcome a 35 percent shooting performance against Eastern Michigan, as they fell 63-56 to the Eagles last night.
It's a big deal wherever you play when you shoot the ball at a low percentage
O'Shea said. We had some decent looks but we weren't able to put the ball in the basket with any consistency. It was one of those nights.
Bubba Walther led the Bobcats with nine points, as no Bobcats scored in double figures for the first time all season. Ohio shot just 7-of-26 from 3-point range in the defeat.
When you don't shoot the ball well from 3-point range it really makes things difficult

At the conclusion of the game, Williams walked off the floor limping with an injured ankle.
Hopefully he is going to be OK
the Bobcat coach said of his star player. You usually won't know until the next day
but he is going to get ice the whole way home. Hopefully
we will have him ready for Saturday.
Forward Justin Orr also totaled nine points for Ohio, which could do little to combat the Eagles 3-point attack. As a team, Eastern Michigan hit 10 3-point field goals, including four by guard Jarred Axon in the first half.
We didn't get off to a good start; we probably had four or five empty possessions
O'Shea said. They did shoot the ball well from three
especially Axon.
The lone bright spot for the Bobcats was the play of forward DeVaughn Washington who scored a career-high eight points in 12 minutes of play.
DeVaughn played very well
O'Shea said. He was probably the one guy off the bench that really gave us a lift tonight.
The defeat ends a five-game winning streak for the Bobcats.
