The second debate of the Sex, Drugs and Rock 'n' Roll series, looking at music piracy, will take place tonight in Baker University Center Ballroom.
The speakers include Tess Taylor, the founder and vice president of the National Association of Record Industry Professionals, and John Perry Barlow, co-founder of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and lyricist for the Grateful Dead.
Taylor will be defending her views on the protection of the record industry while Barlow will be discussing his ideas on why music should be freely shared, said Chad Barnhardt, Baker Center assistant director.
The debate relates to many students on campus and will provide valid arguments on both sides of the issue, Barnhardt said. While the speakers' views are drastically different, they will debate in a respectful manner, he said.
The debate begins at 7 p.m. tonight with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. It is free to students, faculty and staff members.
