The Associated Press of Ohio released its winners for statewide awards today and The Post had a number of staff members honored with awards.
This year's winners for Division II newspapers from The Post are:
Ali Morris — 1st Place — Best Graphics Artist
"Love your work - it's crisp and clean, very modern (or beyond), not the kind of work you often see in newspapers. And while it's eye-catching, it's not overpowering the story - it's aiding to lure you into it. Great work." — Judge comments.
Chelsea Blocker — 2nd Place — Best Graphics Artist
"So many fun elements here. You clearly think outside the box and can come up with some interesting work because of it." — Judge comments
Vince Nairn
— 1st Place — Best Sports Columnist
"Great conversational tone, great insight and you don't hold back. You really put your opinion out there, which you should in a sports column. There's irreverence, fun. It's clear you enjoy it, and if you enjoy it, the reader enjoys it." — Judge comments
Dustin Lennert
— 1st Place — Best Photographer
"These photos tell a story even without text, and that's not an easy thing to accomplish." — Judge comments
Danielle Zeisler's "Haunted Halls"
— 1st Place — Best Illustration
"I like that this is clean and crisp, but also conveys a lot of information." — Judge comments
Susannah Kay
— 1st Place — Best Sports Photo
Alex Goodlett
— 2nd Place — Best Sports Photo
The Post Sports Staff — 2nd Place — Best Blog
Dylan Scott's Athletics Budget coverage — 1st Place — Best Investigative Reporting
