After three years at Ohio University, Marcel Johnson chose to leave the university last year to pursue a music career.
Johnson, who had been studying communications and political science, moved to Streetsboro, Oh., where he teamed up with close friend Andre Alexzander Moss to become The Black Thumbs. The two spent the summer in the studio, producing two albums and working on a website.
Johnson and Moss’s goal for their music is to create a new type of hip-hop that fully incorporates both of their personalities.
With one performance at Kent State University under his belt, Johnson will return to OU this weekend with Moss to perform at a house party Saturday night.
