Dozens of cultures will bombard students who drop by the Baker University Center Ballroom today.
Ohio University's Office of Education Abroad is holding a study-abroad fair until 4 p.m. today in the Baker Ballroom.
The fair will feature information about internhsip, work and study-abroad opportunites offered both directly through OU and through outside organizations that have partnered with OU, such as Academic Programs International, the American Institute for Foreign Study and Cultural Experience Abroad.
In addition to representatives from OU's study-abroad office and the outside organizations, OU students who have studied abroad will be on hand to answer questions about their experiences.
"This is a good opportunity for students to actually get face time with people," said Catherine Marshall, director of OU's Office of Education Abroad Office.
The office, which was recently relocated to 15 Park Place, next to Baker University Center, will be closed today because of the fair, but students who go to the fair will receive the equivalent of walk-in advising, Marshall said.
"I think studying abroad is one of the best things you can do to enhance your academic career," she said. "You're taken out of your norm. You learn about yourself and the world."
