Just three months after 9Fest closes out Ohio University’s final year in quarters, 10Fest will ring in OU’s first year in semesters.
Since its inception, the number-fests have been the culminating event Spring Quarter, but for the first time, 10Fest will take place Fall Semester next year, said Dominic Petrozzi, OU alumnus and fest founder.
Petrozzi said an official date has not been set, only that the fest will occur during early Fall Semester.
“We wanted to change the usual spring date due to the change of quarters to semesters,” said Dominic Petrozzi, executive producer of the number-fests. “It’s also the state’s bicentennial and what better way to celebrate that then have two epic parties in one year?”
Though an official date has not been set, Petrozzi said he is aiming for a date in August after students return to the university.
“That’s what we’re shooting for,” Petrozzi said. “But nothing is set in stone yet.”
Petrozzi added that the plans for the upcoming 9Fest have not changed and the date is still set for May 18, 2012. The line-up for the event has not yet been released.
“9Fest has not changed in any way,” Petrozzi said. “We just thought, with everything going on that the date change for 10Fest would be better.”
