An Ohio University student was indicted by a grand jury Thursday after allegedly assault another student in The Convo parking lot.
Reid J. Tilton, 20, was indicted on one count of felonious assault Thursday after allegedly causing serious physical harm to Austin J. Wright on Sept. 23, according to court documents. Wright is also an OU student.
The incident occurred in The Convo parking lot at around 12:40 a.m. Tilton was arrested by university police and transported to Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail, where he is being held on $25,000 bond with 10 percent allowed, according to court documents.
Tilton's residence is listed as a room in The Convo.
Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn said he was unable to provide further details about the alleged actions of Tilton or the condition of Wright.
Felonious assault is a second-degree felony. Tilton could be sentenced to a maximum of eight years in prison and a maximum fine of $15,000 if convicted at a trail, according to the Ohio Revised Code.
Tilton is scheduled to be arraigned in Athens County Court of Common Pleas Wednesday.
