McDavis to speak at Student Senate tonight

Ohio University Student Senate will be hosting one of OU’s top administrators at Wednesday’s general body meeting.

OU President Roderick McDavis will presumably be giving Senate an overview of the university, said Senate President Zach George.

“It’s a tradition for the president to come in at least once a year,” George said, adding that they encourage him to visit once a semester.

McDavis has not announced what he will speak about, but George speculates there will be a conversation about the direction of the university in light of the new State Share of Instruction (SSI) distribution formula. This formula would allow SSI distribution to be based on graduation rates as well as the size of a university’s student population.

Professor Richard McGrinn from the Bill of Rights Committee will also be presenting information to Senate.

The general body meeting will be held on Wednesday at 7:15 pm in Walter Hall 235.
