I am supporting Kim Goldsberry as the newcomer to the Athens City School Board.
Kim has three children in Athens schools right now and is already working to make our schools better for all Athens children. While East Elementary Parent Teacher Organization President, Kim worked as a team member with other parents, school staff and Police Chief Pyle to implement better security systems for all of our schools, as well as security training for our teachers.
Her committee also came up with the idea of improving student safety by holding periodic security drills at our schools, and Debbie Phillips is pressing to implement these drills in House Bill 178.
Kim is an engaged listener, works well as a leader or in teams and plans to continue her good work in the schools if she is elected to the school board.
Finally, Kim is the only woman running for Athens City School Board member on an all-male board. You, the Ohio University student, can help create a more diverse and experienced school board in your adopted hometown by voting early for Kim Goldsberry at the Athens County Board of Elections on Court Street.
